Madison Pink aka the Mallard Monster

Greetings fellow Intrepid colleagues. Just wanted to give a shout from the northeast.

Madison is insane about retrieving- water and land alike. Launches (and i mean launch-3-4 feet til her feet hit the water) out of my boat for 30-40 yard retrieves in the Susquehanna River; she flips the middle claw at cross currents, no problemo. Just need a ramp so she can get back into the boat w/o soaking me over and over. She's not too steady but is o.k. with me holding her until released- and then.....like a true monster, tears through the woods/water and brings  them right back. We're working on 'drop' but tis not too bad thus far.

I just got a bunch of pigeons last weekend and she's nuts about them, i haven't had them in the field yet bc i want them to return when i do have Maddie huntin em down. She has loved birds since day 1; turkey/pheasant/grouse/duck wings hanging from bungees from the top of her kennel-mobile fashion. Problem is i'm gonna need more wings soon:) pigeons will have to do for now...

Obedience  started 2.5 or so weeks ago and her intelligence is obvious. Sit no problem/heel pretty well but still working on.  others will come soon.

Healthwise, Madison just had her 3rd 5 way shot and will be getting rabies and the first of 2 Leptospiro and rattlesnake vacc. this fri. and next week it will be Lymes and Giardia. Things are lookin great. We have gone from 20 min hikes/exhausted to 2-3 hrs if i can handle it/ no sweat for her. All the boulder gardens around here have helped her substantially; torn me up though. I need fins to keep up with her in the water at only? 23 or so lbs.
